MOSCOW, Jun 10 (PRIME) -- Russia’s mortality decreased by 12.9% in April on the year while the birth rate fell by 9.9%, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a statement on Friday.
In the reporting period, 146,600 people died, including 7,797 with COVID-19 stated as the main reason and 1,476 as potentially the main reason of death; almost 99,700 people were born.
In January–April, mortality fell by 2.8% to 731,300 people. The birth rate fell 6.2% to 420,100 people.
